DURABILITY

The LAMY family has been the sole shareholder of the Group since its foundation. This longevity makes it possible to support the Group’s companies in their development and to be a stable commercial and financial partner.

Collegial governance is based on the expertise of branch managers as well as that of all company employees.

Each Group entity is involved in defining its strategy for its day-to-day operations. Their high degree of autonomy allows them to implement their strategy while drawing on the experience of the parent company, Lamy SA, in administrative, financial and legal management.

This organisation enables the involvement of all the teams, great responsiveness, and a strong local presence combined with the strength of a historic group.

It was in 1830 in Caen, in the midst of the first industrial revolution, that the Lamy family entered the coal trade through maritime transport, as a shipowner, importer, trader and manufacturer.

In the 1950s, the Group launched into the distribution of industrial and domestic fuel oil, becoming a key player in Normandy. Its leadership position would allow it to evolve in various sectors such as the transport of raw materials and industrial products and even the exploitation of sand deposits.

A player in energy transition, the Lamy Group withdrew from domestic coal in the 2000s, maintaining only the industrial activity that is still essential for manufacturing certain materials while seeking to develop and supply more environmentally-friendly products. It has also divested its liquid fuel trading and distribution activities, followed by solid fuel activities, and since 2010 has been deploying innovative and efficient energy services for the operation of buildings.

In order to support this transition, it has also become involved in afforestation in South America and in the production of photovoltaic solar energy. In addition to its activities, the Lamy Group has been supporting project leaders in various sectors for many years.

Today, the sixth generation of the Lamy family continues to work towards the Group’s development with loyal and committed employees.
